The Zheen Center in Sulaimani has been working since 2004 to preserve Kurdistan’s cultural and historical heritage. It safeguards more than 1,300 original manuscripts, nearly one million photographs, and newspapers from the past century—the oldest of which dates back to 1453 AD. If this invaluable archive is not preserved, it risks being lost within the next 30 to 40 years. We protect history so that future generations will know who we were.
